During the operation "Search" in the Chui region, a suspect in the theft of a vehicle was detained, as reported by the press service of the regional Department of Internal Affairs.
According to information, a 38-year-old resident of the city of K.T. reported to the police that on November 26, 2025, at approximately 19:00, his red Mercedes-Benz Sprinter was stolen. The vehicle was parked near his home on Zhantaeva Street.
A criminal case was initiated regarding the incident under Article 211 (Theft of a Motor Vehicle) of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic. During the investigation, it was revealed that at the time of the theft, the car owner was drinking alcohol near his vehicle. As soon as he briefly stepped away to a store, the car disappeared. He was later taken to the hospital with signs of alcohol poisoning.
The victim filed a complaint with the police on December 4, after being discharged from the medical facility. On December 8, law enforcement officers found the stolen vehicle in the Chui district, near Tokmak, and sent it to the impound lot.
As a result of operational search activities, the suspect, 35-year-old I.A., was identified. He was detained under Article 96 of the Criminal Procedure Code of the Kyrgyz Republic, after which the man was placed in a temporary detention facility. The court chose a preventive measure in the form of one month of imprisonment.
The investigation of the criminal case is ongoing.
