Strong gusts of wind have affected cities such as Istanbul, Balıkesir, and Manisa, causing damage to beaches and cultural heritage sites. As a result of the storm, historic buildings and mosque minarets were damaged, and in the Sarıyer district of Istanbul, a gusty wind knocked down the ten-meter Kirecburnu lighthouse, which ended up underwater.
A difficult situation is also observed in Burhaniye, located in Balıkesir. Due to the severe storm, the sea has overflowed its banks, flooding coastal roads and blocking traffic.
As a result of the bad weather, ferry and maritime services have been canceled.
