The origin of the downed drone has not yet been established. It has been sent to Ankara for technical examination, according to the Cumhuriyet newspaper.
Earlier this month, two other drones fell near Çankırı and in the Izmit area of Kocaeli province on December 15 and 19, respectively. The Turkish Ministry of Interior clarified that one of the drones that fell on December 19 was reconnaissance and of Russian origin.
Additionally, the Turkish Ministry of Defense had previously reported on a downed drone over the Black Sea, highlighting the increasing attention to drone incidents in the region.
