The malfunctioning drone was spotted by the military as it began to approach the Turkish border. According to ministry representatives, the drone was initially under observation, but a decision was later made to destroy it.
The agency clarified that F-16 fighter jets, operated by NATO and national command, were ordered to respond to ensure the safety of the airspace. As a result, it was determined that the unmanned aerial vehicle had lost control and posed a threat. It was shot down in a safe area, away from populated places, to avoid undesirable consequences.
At this time, it remains unclear who owned the downed drone and whether it was military or civilian.
