A truck carrying gasoline burned on the Bishkek–Osh highway. The driver and passenger died

On January 25, 2026, an accident occurred on the 141st kilometer of the Bishkek–Osh highway: a large truck transporting fuel and lubricants overturned and caught fire. According to the press service of the Chui Regional Internal Affairs Directorate, as a result of this incident, the driver and his passenger died on the spot. A signal about the fire was received by the duty unit of the Jayil District Internal Affairs Department around 11:35 from the 112 service. An investigative operational group was dispatched to the scene.

It was found that the MAN truck belonged to a 42-year-old citizen, O.K., who was engaged in private transportation of petroleum products. Two days before the tragedy, on January 23, he accepted an order for the supply of AI-92 gasoline from one of the local oil refining enterprises and hired a 34-year-old driver named K.A. On January 25, at approximately 11:20, they were heading towards Osh with 28 tons of gasoline.

While driving, the truck's front left tire burst, causing it to veer into the oncoming lane, after which it overturned and caught fire. As a result of the incident, the vehicle was completely burned. The bodies of the deceased were sent to the morgue, and necessary examinations have already been scheduled. The investigation is ongoing.

According to preliminary data, there was no environmental damage, as no leakage of petroleum products was recorded—all fuel and lubricants burned in the fire.

The Chui Regional Internal Affairs Directorate reminds drivers of the importance of checking the technical condition of vehicles before long trips.
