In the Kazakh city of Shchuchinsk, seven people died in an explosion at the 'Center of Plov' cafe
In Shchuchinsk, Kazakhstan, a tragic incident occurred: seven people died in an explosion at the 'Center of Plov' cafe, as reported by the Emergency Situations Department of Akmolinsk region.

According to the agency's information, the incident took place late in the evening on February 26 and was caused by a "gas-air mixture explosion followed by ignition." The cafe was located in an extension of a five-story residential building.

According to rescuers, within five minutes of receiving the report of the incident, forces and resources from the Emergency Situations Department of Akmolinsk region arrived at the scene. Firefighters managed to evacuate more than 10 people and carry out eight gas cylinders from the burning establishment. Initially, six fatalities were reported, but this number later increased to seven, with around 20 people injured.

By midnight, the fire was completely extinguished, and rescuers began clearing the rubble. Currently, the causes and circumstances of the incident are being investigated.
