A passenger from EAEU countries attempted to smuggle rings and earrings without the necessary documents
At the international airport of Osh, employees of the State Tax Service of Kyrgyzstan detained a shipment of contraband gold that was intercepted during an inspection of cargo arriving from the countries of the Eurasian Economic Union.
The inspection revealed that the luggage contained gold items, including rings, earrings, and chains, with a value exceeding one million soms. The passenger was unable to provide the inspectors with the required documents for the importation of such goods, which led to the detention.
Reports were drawn up regarding this incident, and the case materials have already been sent to the prosecutor's office for further investigation and to hold those responsible accountable.
The State Tax Service emphasized that they will continue to actively combat attempts to illegally trade in precious items.
