At the Tokmok Livestock Market, Illegal Weapons Were Traded. Suspects Detained

On February 24, the press service of the Main Internal Affairs Directorate of the Chui Region reported the detention of participants in the illegal arms trade.

On January 19, law enforcement agencies received information about the sale of weapons at the livestock market in the city of Tokmok.

This act was registered under Article 267 of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic, concerning the illegal circulation of weapons and ammunition.

During the investigation, police officers conducted a controlled purchase, which led to the detention of two suspects: S.Z., born in 1982, and T.K., born in 1994.

During a search of the first detainee, the following items were found:

- a firearm with a caliber of 5.6 mm;

- an IZH-17 shotgun with a caliber of 12;

- a shotgun barrel with a caliber of 16;

- over 30 cartridges and shells of various calibers;

- components for cartridges;

- 29 homemade knives;

- books of religious content;

- two state registration number plates;

- dried plant material (identification is ongoing).

Both detainees have been placed in a temporary detention facility. The investigation is ongoing.
