According to law enforcement agencies, on October 29, 2025, during joint raid activities conducted by the police of the Jayil district and members of the public association "Kalinin Interdistrict Society of Hunters and Fishermen," individuals engaged in poaching were identified. They were found to possess firearms for which they had no permits.
The seized weapons were sent for forensic ballistic examination. The expert conclusion confirmed that the rifles are rifled firearms – single-shot hunting rifles of models TOZ-16 and TOZ-8.
A criminal case has been initiated regarding this incident under Article 267 of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic, concerning illegal trafficking of weapons and ammunition.
On February 16, 2026, based on Article 96 of the Criminal Procedure Code of the Kyrgyz Republic, two citizens, M.M. and K.R., both born in 1988, were detained. They have been placed in a temporary detention facility.
The investigation is ongoing.
