The flag of Kyrgyzstan was raised at the highest point on the planet outside of Asia

On February 13, the flag of Kyrgyzstan was raised for the first time at the summit of Mount Aconcagua (Argentina). This was reported on February 25 by domestic businessman Eduard Kubatov on his Facebook page.

The ascent to the peak and descent from this highest point on the American continent took the climbing expedition, which included Eduard Kubatov, 16 days. In total, the climbers covered 86 kilometers.

"Mount Aconcagua, as the Argentinians like to call it, is the highest point on the planet outside of Asia, and they are absolutely right about that," Kubatov writes. "I climbed as part of an international expedition of 15 top-class climbers, but only two of us managed to reach the summit: myself and the famous Australian climber Roy Wells."

The Kyrgyzstani noted that the route to the summit was not via the classic - western - route, but through the more challenging - eastern - route.

"To my credit, I completed the entire ascent and descent route without the help of porters (people accompanying climbers to help carry loads, Sherpas) and pack animals, carrying 17 kilograms of my climbing gear myself," Kubatov proudly shared.

The businessman emphasized that he dedicated his ascent to Kyrgyzstan, as well as to the 70th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War and to the veterans of World War II.

"We will succeed, I am sure. We just need a little more effort to live in a self-sufficient, developed, and prosperous country. I also have a personal dedication to my only and beloved brother Aitbek, whose brotherly love, understanding, and unwavering support make these ascents possible. Whoever is next on this mountain, remember who was the first," Eduard Kubatov wrote.
