The Russian portal LitCult, dedicated to contemporary literature, traditionally compiles a ranking of the best poets of the past year. Despite the fact that the site publishes a vast number of works by registered authors from around the world (the only condition is that the publications must be in Russian), our compatriot, poet from Bishkek Mikhail Levantovsky, took 6th place in the annual Top-20 Best Poets for the past year with his poem "Antarctica".
Mikhail shared that during his three years on the site, this is not the first time he has made it to the Top: 2 poems made it to the Top-10 of 2012, one of them in 2nd place, and then immediately 3 poems made it to the Top-20 of 2013. Later, these poems were published in a printed collection, with presentations held in Moscow and Nizhny Novgorod.
In addition to self-published poetry collections, he was published in the book "Many Languages - One World," and was a nominee in the literary competition "Golden Stool," organized by AUCA. This collection of poems was included a few years ago in the electronic library "New Literature of Kyrgyzstan." Regarding competitions, over the past 5 years, he has been a nominee in several international literary competitions (Moscow, Bishkek, Odessa, Kostanay).
The image used as an illustration for the poem "Antarctica" was created by the famous Moscow artist Dmitry Bukhrov, with whom Mikhail has worked on joint projects.
