Three high-ranking officials were detained in Talas: N.N.E., who holds the position of Vice President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Kyrgyz Republic, B.Z.B., head of the department of the State Agency for Physical Culture and Sports, and B.N.A., who previously served as the acting Deputy Governor of the Talas region.
According to information provided by the State Committee for National Security of the Kyrgyz Republic, during the investigation in the Talas region, it was revealed that these officials entered into a contract that was clearly disadvantageous.
An amount of 17 million 500 thousand soms was allocated for organizing the "I am a Champion" sports games, scheduled for the summer of 2026 in Talas.
However, 12 million soms of this amount were used to purchase a residential house, which was subsequently supposed to become the administrative building of the regional department of physical culture and sports.
At the same time, the Vice President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry, N.N.E., facilitated the inflation of the estimated value of the house to 12 million 343 thousand soms.
According to an independent assessment, the actual average cost of this residential house is only 7 million soms.
Thus, the state suffered damage exceeding 4 million soms.
In this regard, the detainees were placed in the temporary detention facility of the Talas city police.
Currently, investigative actions are ongoing to identify other participants in this crime and hold them accountable.
