The agency clarified the conditions of detention for the opposition politician
The GSIN noted that the conditions in which Temirlan Sultanbekov is held fully comply with the law. This statement was a response to an appeal from his sister, Kanakey Sultanbekova, who previously expressed concern about pressure on her brother and violations of his rights.
Sultanbekova claimed that Temirlan is in a cell with a person suffering from tuberculosis; however, the GSIN denied this information. In SIZO-1, as clarified by the agency, there are no individuals with infectious diseases, as there is a specialized facility No. 31 for such cases.
Furthermore, the information regarding unsafe conditions for haircuts and possible cuts was also not confirmed. The GSIN emphasized that there have been no recorded violations of sanitary and hygienic standards, including the joint use of disposable personal hygiene items,” the agency added.
