According to the Ministry of Labor of the Kyrgyz Republic, in 2025, 4,315 citizens of the country sought employment consultation in Korea through the EPS program.
As noted by the ministry, this program is implemented under a memorandum with the Ministry of Employment and Labor of the Republic of Korea, allowing Kyrgyz citizens to obtain work permits in this country.
Since its launch in 2007, the program has been regularly updated every two years. In the current cycle, two stages of testing on knowledge of the Korean language have taken place: 1,350 people participated, of which 339 successfully passed the exam. As a result, 225 citizens received employment contracts, and 232 Kyrgyz citizens, including 30 women, went to work in Korea.
Most of them are employed in the food, chemical, and paper industries, as well as in factories producing plastic, rubber, and glass products. The average salary is around 1,700 US dollars.
Today, more than 1,500 citizens of Kyrgyzstan are working in Korea under the EPS program.
