According to the Ministry of Transport and Communications of the Kyrgyz Republic, as of January 16, the roads in the mountain passes are open for traffic, and there are no restrictions.
The state enterprises "Kyrgyzavtozhol-Tushtuk" and "Kyrgyzavtozhol-Tunduk" are actively engaged in clearing the road surface and treating slippery sections with a special mixture of sand and salt.
It is also worth noting that there was an earlier warning about a sharp drop in temperature in the country from January 17 to 19. The Ministry strongly recommends that drivers avoid entering the oncoming lane, adhere to traffic rules, and carry all necessary tools.
