Valeria Abdyvalieva (née Popova) is a native of Ukraine who, following the call of her heart, tied her life to Kyrgyzstani Nursultan Abdyvaliev.

Today, the story of their international family, which moved from Europe to Central Asia, interests many. Valeria shared her impressions and future plans with a correspondent from Turmush.

Meeting in the Heart of Europe

Nursultan was born in the city of Naryn, and he will turn 27 this March. Valeria was born in 2001 in the Kirovohrad region of Ukraine. The fateful meeting of the young people took place thousands of kilometers from their current home. At that time, Valeria was living in Bratislava, while Nursultan was in the neighboring Slovak town of Senec.

Their story began at Valeria's workplace when she was working as a barista. "He came in with a friend to have coffee. There was an immediate spark between us — we exchanged glances, and at the moment they were about to leave, I gathered my courage and asked him for his social media profile. That very evening, we started messaging, and it didn't stop until our first meeting," the girl recalls.

A week after their virtual communication began, Nursultan invited her on a date. Despite their mutual attraction, after their first walk, they returned to their respective cities. However, Valeria soon visited him. "When it was time to say goodbye, and he was seeing me off to the train, Nursultan suddenly confessed his feelings for me. It took me by surprise — at that moment, I only felt a slight attraction," she recounts.

The relationship developed rapidly: just two months later, Nursultan moved to Bratislava, and the couple began their life together. Valeria says that she realized her deep love for him during their first joint New Year celebration.

Moving and Kyrgyz Hospitality

After living together for two years in Europe, the couple made a decisive choice to change their surroundings and move to the husband's homeland. Thus, on June 23, 2025, they landed in Kyrgyzstan. The meeting at the airport and at home was filled with national color: Nursultan's parents welcomed their daughter-in-law according to all the canons of hospitality — with a traditional scarf, "sary mai" (clarified butter), and a lavish family feast.

Initially, the young couple planned only a modest registration at the central registry office, but numerous relatives insisted on a full celebration. As a result, the wedding took place in Kyrgyzstan, adhering to all national traditions, symbolizing the unity of two cultures. According to Valeria, families on both sides showed extraordinary warmth. "My parents accepted Nursultan as their own son, and my husband's parents and relatives treat me like their own daughter. We really appreciate this and often gather as a whole family," she shares.

Life in Bishkek

Valeria is educated as a hotel management manager, but in Kyrgyzstan, she decided to change her career path. She took SMM and mobile photography courses, starting to actively develop her personal blog. One of her videos, in which she tenderly cares for her ailing husband, became popular, bringing her around 2800 new subscribers in a short time.

Adapting to life in Central Asia after Europe was not without difficulties; however, the country's nature captured Valeria's heart. A turning point was a trip to Issyk-Kul. "Seeing this pristine, vibrant nature and meeting such kind, open people, I began to truly fall in love with Kyrgyzstan," Valeria admits.

She has particularly vivid impressions from local weddings: "I was amazed at how many people can gather together and how sincerely even strangers rejoice in each other's happiness."

Everyday Life and Dreams

Today, the Abdyvalievs live in Bishkek. In their free time, they lead an active lifestyle: they engage in sports, create content for their blog, cook together, play video games, and watch movies. "Our plans for the future are quite ambitious. We want to achieve professional success, buy our own home, and travel as much as possible around the world. One of our main joint dreams is to travel to China," Valeria says.
