In Kochkor-Ata, last year, the work on painting and whitewashing the facades of 15 apartment buildings, built 68–70 years ago, was completed. This was reported by the city's mayor, Azamat Narmatov.

He noted that during the work, unauthorized constructions in the yards were also dismantled, the territory was improved, and trees were planted using drip irrigation. This year, it is planned to paint another 10 buildings. "In Kochkor-Ata, there are a total of 25 four-story apartment buildings, and none of them have been painted since the Soviet times. Residents of the first floors used their plots for various purposes: some planted raspberries, others built garages or tandoors," the mayor added.

According to Narmatov, explanatory work was carried out with local residents, after which the light constructions were removed. The plots that were illegally fenced by residents were also put in order. This year, it is planned to complete the painting of another 10 apartment buildings," the mayor said.

Kochkor-Ata is the center of the oil and gas industry of Kyrgyzstan, where one of the largest enterprises in the country engaged in the development of oil and gas fields is located.
