On February 21, an international practical conference titled "ABA of the 21st Century: Life Skills, Individuality, Values" will take place in Bishkek, where issues related to autism spectrum disorders (ASD) will be discussed. The event will focus on modern correction methods, family support, and the creation of an inclusive society.
Autism remains one of the most relevant topics in the fields of medicine and education. According to international data, the number of children with ASD continues to rise, making early detection and social adaptation crucial. In Kyrgyzstan, statistics on early autism diagnosis are lacking, but there is an observed increase in diagnosis cases among children. The conference will provide a platform for open dialogue among all stakeholders aiming to master effective methods of applied behavior analysis and create a supportive environment for people with autism. Discussions will pay special attention to interdisciplinary collaboration and the exchange of experiences in ABA therapy, including the development of life skills and consideration of cultural values.
About 50 centers in Bishkek offer correctional and developmental services for children with developmental delays. The goal of the conference is to unite the efforts of specialists from various disciplines to provide quality assistance to children with ASD.
The conference is practically oriented and will be beneficial for ABA specialists, educators, doctors, speech therapists, and parents working with children who have developmental differences. Both international and national experts in medicine, psychology, and education will participate in the event. The main speaker will be Daria Li-Romanova, a clinical psychologist and supervisor from Hong Kong. Experts from Russia are also expected.
The event will feature specialists with extensive experience working with children with special needs. The conference format includes presentations, panel discussions, and discussions on pressing issues faced by families and professionals. Additionally, the organizers have launched a charitable campaign offering free participation for parents of children with ASD.
The holding of this conference emphasizes the importance of public attention to autism issues and the need for joint efforts to create an inclusive society where every person has the right to understanding, support, and the opportunity to realize their potential.
