In the city of Osh, the process of dismantling three bridges on Atabaev and Y. Tolonov streets has begun as part of the road infrastructure modernization program.

The city mayor, Jenishbek Toktorbaev, visited the territorial administration "Alymbek-datka" on February 17, where it became known that builders need to complete the main concrete work within a month to finish before the start of the irrigation season.

“By the 20th of March, we must complete the construction of supports and structures for three key bridges at the intersections of Suyunbaeva - Atabaeva, Sargalchaeva - Tolonova, as well as on Tolonova Street. It is also necessary to promptly finish the construction of supporting structures on St. Petersburg Street. If we do not manage to complete this before the onset of floods and spring rains, further work in the riverbeds will become impossible,” the mayor noted.

The reconstruction of the bridges is part of a project for the major repair of Atabaev and Y. Tolonov streets, which will be completely updated this year and transformed into modern four-lane highways.

According to information from the municipality, the width of the roads will be increased to 9 meters, which will eliminate long-standing traffic jams. Plans include the installation of new sidewalks and the relocation of utilities, with gas pipes already moved from the construction site. Sanitary work for tree trimming and landscaping of the adjacent area is also planned.

The mayor emphasized that the issues of expanding these sections were raised by residents at annual meetings. The problem of narrow bridges has remained a "bottleneck" for the area for many years. “Previously, we repaired the roads, but the issue with the bridges remained unresolved. Now we are approaching the solution to this problem comprehensively. Complaints about the slow pace of work will soon be replaced by gratitude when the city receives wide and safe roads,” he added.
