The State Committee for National Security of the Kyrgyz Republic (GKNB) has refuted information about an alleged conflict between various law enforcement agencies amid ongoing checks of former employees.
The press service of the agency stated that some false reports are deliberately created to create the impression of a confrontation between departments. However, they said this does not reflect reality and is aimed at undermining trust in state structures.
As reported by the GKNB, at the direction of the country's president, the Military Prosecutor's Office, together with the Main Investigative Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, is conducting a series of investigative and operational activities regarding a number of former GKNB employees suspected of exceeding their authority during their service.
The agency also emphasized that all actions are carried out in accordance with legislation and procedural norms, and the leadership of the GKNB was notified in advance about the ongoing activities.
As a result of the checks, important personnel decisions were made: individuals found guilty of violations were dismissed from their positions and excluded from the national security agencies. Materials on the identified facts have been forwarded for further legal analysis.
The GKNB stressed that state bodies continue to work on strengthening legality, discipline, and preventing corruption. The agency added that every employee, regardless of their position, bears personal responsibility before the law.
Furthermore, the GKNB noted that all law enforcement and security structures operate within the framework of the law and in cooperation, pursuing common goals of ensuring national security and law and order.
“Creating an artificial image of conflict between agencies is destructive and aims to destabilize the socio-political situation,” the statement emphasizes.The agency urged citizens, media, and public figures to rely on official sources of information and to remain calm.
The GKNB assured that it will continue its work to protect the interests of the state and society, ensuring legality and security. It is important to note that there can be no untouchables within the system of state bodies, and the work to cleanse the ranks of dishonest employees will continue.
