On March 2 of this year, according to information announced by the director of the consular department, Seytek Jumakadyrov, at a press conference, there are about 22,000 citizens of Kyrgyzstan in the Middle East, primarily in Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates.

Currently, there have been no reported cases of injuries or people left homeless.

“Members of the operational headquarters and consulate staff are doing everything possible to assist our compatriots,” he added.

According to Seytek Jumakadyrov, there are about 6,000 citizens of Kyrgyzstan in Saudi Arabia, mostly pilgrims who have come to perform Umrah. In the United Arab Emirates (UAE), there are approximately 10,000 Kyrgyz citizens, of whom about a thousand have already had their tourist visas expire.

“In the UAE, especially in Dubai, as well as in Qatar, there are certain difficulties. We have developed alternative routes and prepared action plans,” he noted.

The military actions of Israel and the United States against Iran began on February 28, when numerous air and missile strikes were launched on various cities and military facilities. In response, Tehran attacked Israel and American military bases in several countries in the region. Following the initial attacks, U.S. President Donald Trump announced the start of a military operation called “Epic Fury.”

The Supreme Leader of Iran, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, was killed, along with several high-ranking officials from Tehran.

The escalation of the conflict in the Middle East continues, as do missile strikes from both sides. Tens of thousands of people have found themselves in a difficult situation due to the closed airspace in the conflict zone.
