Currently, the Ministry of Science, Higher Education and Innovation of Kyrgyzstan is working on creating a regional mobility program for students. This was reported by the press service of the ministry, adding that the project is in the development stage.

Ministry representatives indicated that the main goal of the program is to expand access to higher education and encourage student mobility between different regions of the country.

It is noted that students in Kyrgyzstan actively participate in public life. Youth from various corners of the country study together in vocational educational institutions, which fosters the exchange of ideas and the formation of effective interregional integration.

As part of the reforms in higher education, the implementation of academic mobility programs will be an important step. The aim of these reforms is to improve the quality of education, promote social justice, and develop human capital in accordance with the modern requirements of the labor market and technological changes, the ministry noted.

One of the first steps in this direction has been the updating of the list of specialties and training areas in the system of higher vocational education. Currently, educational and methodological associations are conducting an inventory of existing areas, working to eliminate outdated specialties and consolidate them.

There is also a review of state educational standards with an emphasis on the learning outcomes of students.

Earlier, President Sadyr Japarov announced the introduction of a rotation system for students studying on budget-funded places. Starting in 2027, it is planned to redistribute budget places between regions: applicants from the south will be sent to study in the north, while students from the north will go to the southern regions.

According to the president, about 10,000 graduates receive budget places annually. It is expected that 5,000 students from northern and southern regions will study outside their area of residence.
