Kyrgyzstan returned 56 tons of onions to Kazakhstan due to document violations

Employees of the Chui-Bishkek Department of the Ministry of Chemicalization, Plant Protection, and Quarantine stopped the import of a large batch of agricultural products from Kazakhstan. This occurred at the "Ak-Tilek Road" checkpoint during phytosanitary control.

During the inspection of 56 tons of onions, it was found that the information in the phytosanitary certificate did not match the data in the transport invoices. This discrepancy violates the rules of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU).

In accordance with the decision of the Customs Union Commission No. 318 on quarantine phytosanitary control, the import of this batch into Kyrgyzstan was prohibited. The cargo was completely returned to Kazakhstan.

The Ministry of Water Resources, Agriculture, and Processing Industry of the Kyrgyz Republic emphasizes the importance of strict adherence to phytosanitary requirements and thorough verification of all accompanying documents when importing agricultural products into the country.
