Currently, 56 tons of onions that arrived from Kazakhstan have not been allowed through the border of Kyrgyzstan. This was reported by the Ministry of Water Resources, Agriculture, and Processing Industry of the Kyrgyz Republic.
According to the agency, the Chui-Bishkek Department of the Plant Protection, Quarantine, and Chemicalization Department conducted a quarantine phytosanitary inspection at the "Ak-Tilek" automobile checkpoint. During the inspection, a discrepancy was found between the data indicated in the phytosanitary certificate and the information provided in the accompanying documents for the cargo.
Experts established that the information in the phytosanitary certificate did not match the data presented in the transport documents. In accordance with paragraph 3.7 of the Regulation on the Procedure for Conducting Quarantine Phytosanitary Control, approved by the decision of the Customs Union Commission on June 18, 2010, No. 318, the import of this batch of onions into the territory of Kyrgyzstan was prohibited, and the cargo was returned to the sender.
The Ministry emphasizes the importance of adhering to phytosanitary standards when importing agricultural products.
