New Maternity Hospital and Dormitory for Doctors: Health Minister Visits the Central Perinatal Center in Kemine

During a working trip, the Minister of Health of the Kyrgyz Republic, Damir Osmonov, visited the Center for General Medical Practice in Kemin, located in the Chui region. He reviewed the current state of medical infrastructure, as well as the process of constructing new facilities and equipping them with modern equipment.

According to the press service of the Ministry of Health, Osmonov inspected the construction of a new maternity hospital with 50 beds. This four-story building, with a total area of 2,220 square meters, has already reached the third floor, where work on the monolithic structures is ongoing.


The project for the new maternity hospital includes an admission and gynecological department, rooms for ultrasound diagnostics and colposcopy, as well as a discharge block for patients on the first floor. The operating block and two delivery rooms will be located on the second floor, while the third floor will house the newborn pathology department and the gynecological department with separate sanitary facilities. The maternity hospital is also planned to be equipped with modern medical equipment.

In addition, the minister was informed about a project to create a dormitory for medical workers. The former infectious disease department will be transformed into a residential dormitory with eight apartments and necessary amenities. The work is funded by the Kemin District Development Fund and amounts to about 18 million soms. The total area of the building is 1,450 square meters, and the goal of the project is to improve living conditions for medical staff and address the shortage of personnel.

During the meeting, the leadership of the Center for General Medical Practice raised several pressing issues, including the shortage of medical specialists. Currently, efforts are underway to improve conditions for attracting personnel, including the construction of a dormitory for medical workers.

Furthermore, Osmonov visited the old maternity hospital, where the option of a major renovation was discussed, for which about 100 million soms had been planned. Following the inspection, the minister instructed to conduct additional studies on the condition of the building and the feasibility of repairs.
