At the book fair in Belarus, a presentation of Kyrgyzstan took place
As part of the XXXIII Minsk International Book Exhibition and Fair, a presentation of Kyrgyzstan was held.

At the event, international competition laureate and Master of Arts Nikita Fominykh performed popular songs "Kyrgyzstanym" and "Kara Jorgo" in the Kyrgyz language. A poem titled "Kyrgyz Zheri" was also recited by student Darya Baltabaeva from one of the Belarusian universities.

Erbol Sultanbaev, the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Kyrgyz Republic to Belarus, emphasized that the geography of the exhibition participants expands every year, indicating a growing interest in this event.

“This allows us to get to know the cultural and literary heritage of other countries more deeply. Speaking of Kyrgyzstan, one cannot fail to mention our famous epic 'Manas,' which is recognized by UNESCO as an intangible cultural heritage. This epic reflects historical events related to the struggle of the Kyrgyz people for independence, as well as such important values as unity, courage, and love for the homeland. 'Manas' is a key element of our national identity,” he noted.

Literary scholar Askar Medetov added that currently, Kyrgyz-Belarusian literary connections are being studied. Works by Belarusian classics, such as Yakub Kolas and Yanka Kupala, have been translated into Kyrgyz, while works by Kyrgyz authors are being translated into Belarusian. This promotes cultural exchange between the two countries. “Events occurring in the territory of the CIS are reflected in art and culture, especially in the context of the events of the 1990s after the collapse of the Soviet Union, which generates interest among our readers,” he added.
