The Tyup District of the Issyk-Kul Region became the venue for the celebration of Nowruz, which this year was held on a grand scale.

Local residents and guests gathered in the center of the district to participate in national games, various entertainment activities, sports competitions, and an agricultural fair.

The official opening of the event took place under the leadership of the head of the Tyup Ayil Okmotu, U. Bozgunov, who, along with a deputy of the Jogorku Kenesh and representatives of local institutions, congratulated everyone present.

Cultural workers prepared a theatrical performance that reflected the spring renewal of nature and the equinox. Women in white elecheks conducted the ritual of alastoo. Additionally, competitions for the best decoration of yurts and an exhibition of national dishes were organized, with cash prizes provided by the Tyup Ayil Okmotu.

The fair also featured an exhibition of artisans, and a concert program was prepared for the guests.

For the holiday, sümölök was prepared in nine different variations, on the surface of which one could see the image of deer antlers.

"Unlike last year, when the sümölök featured the outlines of Mount Karkara, this year we saw the image of a deer's head and antlers. This is related to the fact that there are many representatives of the Buguu clan in the Tyup District, and the deer symbolizes kindness and courage," noted journalist Muratbek Jumakadyrov.

Before distributing the sümölök, which is considered a national dish, sprouted barley was packaged into 150 boxes, and kuurma tea was prepared, which was distributed to residents with good wishes.

As a result of the yurt decoration competition, the head of the Tyup Ayil Okmotu awarded prizes: 10,000 soms for first place, 8,000 for second, and 3,000 and 2,000 soms for third and fourth places, respectively.
