Shakhlo Osmonakhunova, a 17-year-old athlete from Kara-Kul, is actively engaged in Olympic boxing.

She discovered her love for sports at the age of 14. Since 2023, she has been attending a boxing section.

Currently, Shakhlo is studying in the 11th grade at the third school.

“I started boxing of my own accord. I have been interested in this sport for a long time, but I didn’t know that there was a section in our city. Now I am training, and I want to connect my future with sports: to become a boxing master and later work as a coach, nurturing young talents,” she shared.

Shakhlo emphasized that she does not intend to stop her sports activities, as boxing occupies an important place in her life.

Training Conditions

The athlete candidly speaks about the shortcomings of the training conditions in Kara-Kul.

“In our gym, the conditions leave much to be desired. There is no ring, and we train only on simple equipment. However, I hope that in the future the situation will change, and the gym will become more modern,” she noted.

According to her, there have been changes in the city’s infrastructure in recent years, and positive work is already underway.

Moreover, Shakhlo is not the only boxer in her family—her younger sister also practices this sport, which indicates support for sports in their family.

Achievements in Sports

In 2024, Shakhlo performed successfully at the Kyrgyz Republic Boxing Championship for girls and teenagers born in 2008-2009, which took place in Bishkek. In the 57 kg weight category, she won 3rd place.

This achievement was recognized by the local authorities of Kara-Kul. Shakhlo and her coach Kultaev Bakyt received monetary awards from the mayor's office, the city council, and the deputies.
