President of the National Olympic Committee of Kyrgyzstan Umbetaly Kydyraliev Resigns

The President of the National Olympic Committee of Kyrgyzstan, Umbetaly Kydyraiev, has decided to resign, as reported by sources from the publication Sport AKIpress.

Kydyraiev was elected to this position in December 2024, succeeding Sadyr Japarov immediately after the Olympic Games in Paris.

Earlier, the NOC of Kyrgyzstan announced a meeting of the Executive Committee on March 27, during which it was decided to hold an extraordinary General Assembly of the NOC on April 29.

The list of candidates for the position of the new president will be announced on April 11.

Umbetaly Kydyraiev is also a deputy of the Jogorku Kenesh and the president of the Boxing Federation of the Kyrgyz Republic. In the past, he served as a deputy in the 6th convocation of the Jogorku Kenesh, was a member of the Constitutional Assembly in 2021, and also headed the board of OJSC "Kyrgyzaltyn" and was a member of the Board of Directors of CJSC "Kumtor Gold Company".
