The agreement aims to simplify and optimize customs procedures, which will be achieved through:
- the introduction of a unified transit declaration in the format of an electronic document;
- the application of a unified mechanism for ensuring the payment of customs duties, taxes, as well as special, anti-dumping, and compensatory duties;
- the implementation of special simplifications for authorized economic operators from the participating countries and third countries;
- the use of navigation seals to track goods during their transit in accordance with the customs transit regime across the territory of the Union and third countries;
- the mutual recognition of decisions made by customs authorities and the results of customs control based on international agreements of the Union with third countries, which will be used solely for the fulfillment of the tasks and functions of customs authorities.
