New rules regarding the issuance of medical insurance policies to migrants have come into effect in Russia. This information was published on the official website of the State Duma.

At a plenary session, the State Duma approved a law aimed at improving the compulsory health insurance system.

As stated by Vyacheslav Volodin, the Chairman of the State Duma, the conditions for migrants have become stricter.

He noted: "Foreign citizens are now required to legally work for at least five years in Russia to be eligible for free medical assistance. This rule does not apply in emergency cases," Volodin added.

According to him, "those who come to Russia for work and wish to receive high-level social guarantees must confirm their right to this through legal and honest labor."
