Starting from November 1, 2026, the cost of work permits for migrants in Moscow will increase from 8,900 to 10,000 rubles. This decision was made at an extraordinary plenary session of the Moscow City Duma.
As explained by Daria Murchenko, Deputy Head of the Department of Economic Policy and Development of Moscow, this measure is related to the growth of the average salary in the region.
She also noted that the increase in the price of work permits will help balance the tax burden on migrants and citizens of the Russian Federation.
In addition, the press service of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for the Moscow Region reported the completion of the second phase of the operation "Illegal-2025," aimed at combating illegal migration. As a result of this operation, more than 4,300 court decisions were issued for the expulsion of foreign citizens from Russia.
Previously, illegal migration was described as a serious threat to national security in the Russian Federation.
