The USA will expand the list of countries subject to the migration ban

The list is planned to be expanded from 19 to 30 countries

The U.S. Secretary of Homeland Security, Kristi Noem, announced the intention to expand the list of countries subject to the migration ban. Currently, this list includes 19 countries.

According to Noem, the administration of former President Donald Trump is considering increasing the list to 30 countries.

This information was revealed following a tragic incident that occurred last week near the White House, when gunfire was directed at the National Guard. As a result of the shooting, one of the servicemen died in the hospital. The suspect turned out to be a citizen of Afghanistan who moved to the U.S. in 2021.

“I cannot specify the exact number of countries we are considering, but it already exceeds 30. The President continues to analyze the situation,” Noem noted in an interview with Fox News, without specifying which countries might be added to the new list.

Recall that in June 2025, Donald Trump signed an order that restricts entry to the U.S. for citizens of 19 countries located in Africa, Latin America, and Asia, including such nations as Afghanistan and Turkmenistan. These countries have been recognized as potentially dangerous to the U.S.
