Kanikei Sultanbekova, the sister of detained politician Temirlan Sultanbekov, made a statement that the authorities are pressuring her brother, who is in a pre-trial detention center on charges of inciting mass riots. She published her address on social media.

According to her, the conditions of Temirlan's detention create "moral and psychological pressure." She claims that he is in a cell with 18 inmates, one of whom suffers from tuberculosis. Kanikei also noted that inmates are shaved with the same razor, which has caused her brother to have cuts.

Sultanbekova also claims that some pre-trial detention center staff "suggest" that Temirlan commit suicide, which she considers a serious violation of the law and human rights. However, there are no official confirmations of these facts.

She harshly criticized the actions of government agencies, stating that there are no conditions for freedom of speech in Kyrgyzstan, and that the detention of politicians, journalists, and public figures occurs "on the basis of fabricated cases." Kanikei reminded that her brother was detained a year ago "as a dangerous criminal" with the involvement of masked security forces, and that his meetings with relatives and phone calls were restricted.

She also mentioned the elections, claiming that honestly elected candidates are "excluded," while those detained with large sums of money "do not face responsibility." According to her, the trusted representatives of candidates are detained during the period when they should remain inviolable, and some politicians become the subject of searches despite the ban.

Sultanbekova emphasized that journalists and independent media are under pressure, and some politicians and experts "have died in pre-trial detention," with their deaths presented as suicides.

In conclusion, she noted that UN representatives emphasize the deterioration of the human rights situation in Kyrgyzstan and expressed the opinion that "it is morally wrong to congratulate the country on Human Rights Day when there are no human rights in it."

It should be noted that on November 23, law enforcement agencies conducted a series of arrests and searches related to the case of inciting mass riots. A criminal case was initiated after a video featuring Temirlan Sultanbekov appeared, after which the Ministry of Internal Affairs announced the start of investigative and operational activities.

During the investigation, several politicians and former officials were detained or summoned for questioning, including Kadyrbek Atambaev, Shailoobek Atazov, Syimyk Japykeev, Kubanychbek Kadyrov, and others. Searches also took place at the homes of politicians and journalists, including former First Lady Raisa Atambaev, relatives of Temirlan Sultanbekov, and the family of journalist Dmitry Lozhnikov.

It later became known that Temirlan Sultanbekov, Kadyrbek Atambaev, Shailoobek Atazov, and seven others were placed in a temporary detention facility for the selection of a preventive measure. Other participants in the interrogations, such as Adakhan Madumarov and Syimyk Japykeev, were released after speaking with investigators.
