As is known, in September 2024 the Supreme Court banned access to the Kloop website; however, publications continued on social media.On May 28, 2025, GKNB officers detained seven individuals associated with Kloop, including journalist Aida Erkebaeva and operator Alexander Alexandrov. Also detained were journalist Ziyagul Bolot kyzy and former editorial staff members Zarina Sadygalieva and Zhoomart Doolotov, as well as friends of one of the journalists and the girlfriend of a former employee.
Searches were conducted at the homes of Alexandrov and Bolot kyzy, during which laptops and mobile phones were seized.
On the same day, after questioning, all the women were released, while Alexandrov and Doolotov remained in custody for 48 hours.
Lawyer Bakyt Avtandila reports that the reasons for the detentions are unclear. The head of the president's press service, Daiyrbek Orunbekov, indicated on Facebook that the detainees allegedly worked with Bolot Temirov, conducting commissioned investigations, which Temirov himself denied, stating he was unfamiliar with the detainees.
On May 29, GKNB officers conducted a search at the home of Abdila Torobaev, seized equipment, and took him for questioning. Office manager Symbat Baymurzaeva was also detained, and a search was conducted at the Kloop office, where documentation and equipment were seized.
On May 30, it became known that Kloop operator Alexander Alexandrov and former employee Zhoomart Doolotov were placed in pre-trial detention center No. 1 in Bishkek.
On July 20, at Manas International Airport, GKNB officers detained 19-year-old Kutman Kalenov, a former freelancer for Kloop and author of the "Kysykacha" channel. After questioning, he was released.
In September, Judge Cholponai Umetalieva of the October District Court of Bishkek found the former Kloop employees guilty of complicity in calls for mass riots, sentencing them to 5 years in a penal colony for a video from another publication. The accountants received three years of probation.
