Embassy of Kyrgyzstan Established in Egypt

President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Japarov has signed a decree to establish an embassy of the Kyrgyz Republic in the Arab Republic of Egypt.

According to the decree, the aim of this step is to develop political, economic, scientific, and cultural ties between Kyrgyzstan and Egypt. This decision is based on paragraph 10 of Article 4 of the Law of the Kyrgyz Republic "On the Interaction of State Bodies in the Field of Foreign Policy" and part 2 of Article 5 of the Law "On Diplomatic Service".

The embassy of the Kyrgyz Republic will be located in Cairo. The Cabinet of Ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic is instructed to: 1) increase the staff of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs by 5 positions;

2) resolve issues related to the organizational and financial support for the operation of the embassy;

3) align its decisions with this decree.

Control over the implementation of the decree is entrusted to the department for monitoring the execution of decisions of the president and the cabinet of ministers of the administration of the president of the Kyrgyz Republic. The decree is subject to official publication and will come into effect on January 1, 2026. This decree is adopted to activate political, trade, investment, educational, and cultural ties with Egypt, as well as to improve consular services for approximately 3,000 citizens of Kyrgyzstan located in Egypt and neighboring countries of North Africa.

The establishment of the embassy in Egypt will contribute to the implementation of Kyrgyzstan's foreign policy on the African continent, the diversification of international relations, and the expansion of diplomatic presence.
