In Bishkek, Russian director Sergey Korotaev brought not just a new film, but a true spark of human cinema. His work "Not on the Lists" will be shown on October 31 at the "Manas" cinema as part of the Russian Film Festival, which takes place from October 29 to November 1 in the capital of Kyrgyzstan.

“If the hall is full, it means Russian cinema is in demand. This is support for us,” he noted with a smile. “If the film doesn't interest anyone, then something is wrong. But here – there is a live response, genuine interest. This is very important,” emphasizes Korotaev. The director expressed gratitude for the organization of the festival, noting the warm atmosphere and the sense of celebration that prevails at the event.
Events of this kind are necessary for both viewers and creators, as they contribute to real cultural interaction that cannot be replaced by virtual viewing.
“For me, it is a great joy to participate in the Days of Russian Cinema in Bishkek. It is both a responsibility and happiness to represent our modern cinema in a fraternal country,” he shared.Korotaev speaks warmly about the cultural ties between Russia and Kyrgyzstan: “Such festivals enrich both sides. We share experiences, ideas, and visions.”
He believes that Kyrgyz viewers are close to Russian cinema due to its humanity and sincerity.

Although Korotaev did not have the opportunity to communicate in detail with Kyrgyz filmmakers, the idea of joint work inspires him.
“I hope for the possibility of creating a joint Russian-Kyrgyz project that could become a new word in our cultural space,” he concluded, expressing optimism for future cooperation.
