From November 11 to 17, the significant international forum ICOM Dubai 2025 took place, in which the director of the National Historical Museum of Kyrgyzstan, Zhyldyz Bakashova, participated.

According to the Ministry of Culture of the Kyrgyz Republic, the conference gathered specialists from over 130 countries and included more than 400 speakers, 100 panel discussions, and over 10 plenary sessions, as well as a large exhibition of museum innovations.

Topics discussed at the forum:

- social and demographic changes

- digital technologies and artificial intelligence

- cultural heritage preservation

- inclusivity in museums

- museum diplomacy

- the impact of museums on societal development.

At the session "Artificial Intelligence and Museums," Bakashova shared her views on the significance of AI in museum activities, the preservation of digital archives, and future opportunities for virtual exhibitions. The discussion "What Do Museums Tell?" addressed issues of cultural diversity and historical representation in museum practice.

During the forum, Zhyldyz Bakashova met with the president of ICOM, Emma Nardi, and vice president Nasir Al Darmaki, where the parties discussed ways to expand cooperation and implement joint inclusive projects.

“The National Historical Museum has long been unable to participate in ICOM meetings. In 2025, with the support of the Ministry of Culture, Information, and Youth Policy, the museum officially became a participant in this important global forum for the first time,” the statement notes.
