This information was published on the official website of the Government of Kyrgyzstan.

The agreement was signed between the LLC "China - Kyrgyzstan - Uzbekistan Railway Company" (Joint Project Company) and the Syndicate of Chinese Banks, which includes the China Development Bank and the Export-Import Bank.

The total cost of the project is 4.7 billion US dollars. Of this amount, about 2.3 billion dollars will be provided by China in the form of a 35-year loan to the Joint Project Company, with repayment being carried out by the company itself. The remaining 2.3 billion dollars will be contributed by the three states to the charter capital of the company in the following proportions: China – 51%, Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan – 24.5% each.

During the signing of the agreement, Bakyt Torobayev noted that the full financial provision for the project must be completed by December 20, 2025, and this condition has already been met.

“This work deserves high praise and demonstrates the readiness of the Joint Project Company to implement large-scale international projects,” added Torobayev.

The General Director of LLC "China - Kyrgyzstan - Uzbekistan Railway Company," Zhou Xin, emphasized that the company will focus not only on the effective use of the funds received but also on the reliable and timely fulfillment of its obligations under the agreement.

It is important to note that the construction project of the "China - Kyrgyzstan - Uzbekistan" railway is one of the most complex from a technical and engineering standpoint in the region. Its implementation involves the construction of 50 bridges and 29 tunnels, which will total 120 kilometers. Thus, about 40% of the route will pass through tunnels and bridges. The length of the railway on the territory of Kyrgyzstan will be 304 kilometers.

Let us remind you that the official start of the construction of the railway was given on December 27, 2024, by three presidents. On that day, Sadyr Japarov, Xi Jinping, and Shavkat Mirziyoyev noted the strategic significance of this project for their countries.
