The main focus of the meeting was on the problems posed by locust pests, which threaten the agricultural lands of the Commonwealth states.
- The participants of the meeting heard reports on the phytosanitary situation in the CIS countries and summarized the implementation of a set of measures aimed at preventing the spread of locust pests in these countries.
- In addition, information was presented on the creation of a draft Action Plan related to the Agreement on Cooperation among CIS states to prevent the development of locust pests, signed on September 29, 2025.
“During the meeting, prospective directions for further work were discussed, and participants emphasized the importance of coordinating actions and close interaction to minimize the economic damage associated with the mass spread of locust pests, as well as ensuring food security in the countries,” noted the Executive Committee of the CIS.
