At the initiative of the association of internationalist soldiers who fulfilled their duty in Afghanistan, the green zone was named in honor of those who served in that country. According to established tradition, every year, solemn meetings are held in the park in memory of the soldiers from Kyrgyzstan who died while fulfilling international duty. In 2009, the park area was renovated, new trees were planted, alleys were improved, and a fence was installed to maintain cleanliness within the territory.
