At the meeting of the permanent commission on economics, budget, finance, and investments, the director of the Department of Urban Economy, Bermet Sydykova, reported that a new ecology department was established within the department's structure in 2025, with an increase of four staff members. This department began its work in September. The main efforts to protect the environment are being carried out in collaboration with the Department of Transport.
Sydykova also noted that a "Green City" concept was developed aimed at improving the ecological situation. Plans for 2026 include holding a "green week," community clean-up days, and various environmental events, including lectures, seminars, and festivals.
In response to the deputy's question about the actions of the Department of Transport, its head reported that work was done last year to install catalysts. As part of a pilot project implemented in collaboration with the Ministry of Natural Resources, catalysts were installed on ten vehicles. In the future, it is planned to increase the number of vehicles equipped with catalysts.
