At the meeting of the Jogorku Kenesh on March 4, Deputy Ismanali Joroev emphasized that the Karagacheva Grove needs care, as many areas are overgrown with household waste.

The Karagacheva Grove, founded in 1981 by botanist Fetisov, is one of the oldest green areas in the capital. With an area of 136.6 hectares, only 40 hectares are in proper condition, while the rest of the territory is practically unkempt. The grove is home to dozens of species of trees and shrubs, including elm, yew, maple, walnut, linden, and poplar, as well as the Komsomol and Pioneer lakes.

“Unfortunately, this unique natural zone remains without proper supervision: in the summer, only one lake is operational, while the other is not functioning, and the sanitary condition of the forest leaves much to be desired. Some areas are littered with garbage. We often discuss issues of environmental safety and green economy, but if we do not preserve such historical and natural treasures, we may lose them forever,” he noted.

In this regard, Joroev put forward several proposals:

1. The creation of a municipal program for the restoration of the Karagacheva Grove, including the pruning of damaged trees, the restoration of green plantings, and the planting of new trees.

2. A complete reconstruction of irrigation and water supply systems, cleaning the lakes, and resuming their operation.

3. The gradual transformation of the area into an eco-park, including the organization of safe walking and cycling paths, installation of lighting, and video surveillance.

4. The development of a public-private partnership mechanism aimed at creating small docks, pedestrian bridges, and arranging a recreation area in the format of a "little Venice."
