Deputy Aibek Altynbekov criticized the prolonged consideration of the status of the "Dashman" reserve at the meeting on March 9 of the Committee of the Jogorku Kenesh on agricultural policy, water resources, subsoil use, ecology, and environmental protection.

During the meeting, information about the work of the Ministry of Natural Resources for 2025 was discussed. The director of the relevant department, Talant Turdumamatov, reported that the area of the reserve is over 8 thousand hectares. Currently, a commission is functioning that is addressing the issue of changing its status to a natural park.

According to Turdumamatov, approvals have already been received from the ayil okmotu, and the commission has held field meetings on site. He noted that if all conditions are met, the issue could be considered this year.

Nevertheless, Deputy Altynbekov expressed dissatisfaction with the delay in the process. In his opinion, residents of the surrounding villages have been demanding a change in the status of the territory for several years, as previously part of the land was used by the forestry, and local residents had access to natural resources.

The deputy noted that several commissions have been created in recent years, but no specific decisions have been made. He also reported possible violations in the territory of the reserve, emphasizing that despite its status as a specially protected natural area, recreational facilities such as baths and tourist bases are appearing, and trees are being cut down. "There should be no such constructions in the reserve, but they have continued to appear for 20 years. People report this, but there are no concrete results from the authorized bodies," he added.

Altynbekov also pointed out the non-compliance with legislative requirements in the structure of the protected area. In particular, the core zone should occupy 70-75% of the area, but this indicator is not met in "Dashman."

A representative of the Ministry of Natural Resources reported that checks are currently being conducted on individual facts of possible violations, including with the involvement of law enforcement agencies. The deputy emphasized that the issue needs to be resolved as soon as possible, as residents of nearby villages are counting on the legal use of part of the territory, especially during the agricultural work period.
