She noted that this year Kyrgyzstan made a significant step by adopting laws related to joining two Vienna Conventions that regulate issues of radiation safety. In addition, the updated protocol of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) concerning small quantities of nuclear materials was ratified.

The Deputy Minister emphasized that this document establishes clear rules for the accounting, control, and application of international guarantees regarding nuclear materials at the national level. The measures taken are aimed at adapting Kyrgyzstan's radiation safety system to international standards, which is an important step in ensuring safety and protecting the environment.
