Prices for goods and services continue to rise
According to public activist Altynbek Dospaev, President Sadyr Japarov can earn 200% trust from the population if he successfully tackles corruption in the trade sector. In an interview with Vesti.kg, he expressed his concern about the current situation with prices.
“While in stores and markets, one can notice that sellers ignore the instructions of the president, the head of the State National Security Committee, and the government. Prices continue to rise for meat, food, and services. What should pensioners, of whom there are more than 800 thousand in the country, do? Or those with low incomes? Why are prices not decreasing if high-ranking officials and the media are talking about it? This indicates the corrupt influence among officials and entrepreneurs!” he noted with dissatisfaction.
Dospaev is confident that if the president brings order to prices, his popularity among the people will increase.
“Currently, 90% of citizens support him. If the president can stop the corruptors and intermediaries who inflate prices, his rating could reach 200%. Most people live on modest incomes. Curbing speculation in the market will significantly increase the popularity of both Sadyr Japarov and Kamchybek Tashiev among the population. People are in despair due to the arbitrariness of sellers,” the activist added.
It should be noted that there are certain price restrictions in Kyrgyzstan, including on meat products. President Sadyr Japarov and head of the State National Security Committee Kamchybek Tashiev have repeatedly warned sellers to comply with the legislation and avoid speculation.
