This event was organized as part of the national project "Effective and Competitive Economy" and aims to establish new business connections between companies in the Irkutsk region and Central Asia.
The delegation from Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan included representatives from companies operating in sectors such as food industry (including beverages and food products), construction (materials, metal structures, pipes), manufacturing of equipment for mining and industrial enterprises, as well as timber processing (lumber, modular homes, plywood). More than 30 companies from the Irkutsk region participated in the event, representing similar industries.
"This year, the Irkutsk region has interacted with representatives from over 90 countries. Although the share of Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan in this process is small, we see significant potential for developing our trade and economic relations, particularly in machine engineering and the agro-industrial complex. The regional government and the Ministry of Economic Development and Industry are open to dialogue. We hope that this meeting will lay the foundation for new business relations between our countries," noted Viktor Tsishkovsky, acting Minister of Economic Development and Industry of the Irkutsk region.
"Russia, Kyrgyzstan, and Uzbekistan have much in common, including historical and linguistic ties, which creates an excellent basis for constructive dialogue. I am confident that entrepreneurs from the Irkutsk region will be able to establish long-term and mutually beneficial relationships with their colleagues from the CIS," added Dilyara Okladnikova, director of the "My Business" center.
As part of the event, negotiations took place, during which preliminary agreements on cooperation were reached. More detailed terms of future contracts will be worked out by the parties individually.
