The cake from processing is used for feeding livestock.
Safflower oil is now produced at the Kyrgyz State Breeding Plant located in the Sokuluk district. This initiative aims to improve the processing of safflower and utilize its byproduct—the cake—for animal feed.
The purchase of necessary equipment for the launch was financed by the Sokuluk district development fund. This has enabled the farm to master the full production cycle—from growing safflower to obtaining oil.
Experts estimate the average yield of safflower at one ton per hectare, and with adherence to all agronomic standards, it can reach up to five tons. The oil yield is 40%, making its processing economically viable.
In the lower part of the Sokuluk district, there are about 50 thousand hectares of arable land, a significant portion of which is occupied by rain-fed lands. Safflower is seen as a more profitable alternative to traditional cereal crops.
Future plans include expanding arable land, involving farmers and dehkan farms, as well as developing processing to produce final products.
