At the meeting of the Committee of the Jogorku Kenesh on Finance, Budget, Entrepreneurship, and Competition Development, held on January 19, Deputy Marlen Mamataliyev proposed to reconsider the criteria for including citizens in the banks' blacklists. He noted that many Kyrgyz citizens take out consumer loans for amounts up to 100,000 soms.

According to the deputy, there are cases where borrowers cannot repay a small amount of debt on time, and as a result, they end up on the blacklist, which prevents them from obtaining new loans. Currently, those with debts exceeding 10,000 soms are placed on the blacklist. "Why not raise this threshold to 100,000 soms?" Mamataliyev asked.

The Deputy Chairman of the National Bank, Bektur Aliev, reminded that those who are overdue on payments for more than 90 days are placed on the blacklist.

Furthermore, Mamataliyev emphasized that many citizens are facing financial difficulties and need support. The Deputy Head of the National Bank suggested that the deputy formalize his initiative for the second reading.
