He reminded that he had previously discussed this problem with the Minister of Agriculture Bakyt Torobaev, who promised to find ways to address it. However, the situation continues to worsen.
“We understand that prices depend on global market quotations. However, farmers are now forced to sell beans at extremely low prices just to survive. These prices do not even cover production costs,” noted Jumabekov.
He also emphasized that such conditions threaten not only the current harvest but also the future production of beans in the Talas region, which is a key area for this crop in Kyrgyzstan.
The deputy is convinced that the government must intervene and provide real assistance to farmers by utilizing support mechanisms, product processing, seeking new markets, and other effective measures.
